about the author
Anne Jankéliowitch is an engineer specializing in the environment. She has worked for several years in nature conservation and for the World Wildlife Fund and Greenpeace. She contributed to the best-seller The Earth from Above, and to several other nature-related books. Most recently she authored Ships. She lives in France. A regular contributor to magazines and books and the photographer of Abrams’ Volcanoes: Journey to the Crater’s edge, Philippe Bourseiller has been awarded the prestigious World Press Prize five times.
